Cairo University has kept its place as one of the best 500 universities at the global level and occupied the first place at the Egyptian Universities level and the third on Africa after Cape Town and Stellenbosch Universities at South Africa, and the second on the Arab World after King Saud University – KSA. This has been announced by the report of the first version results of Webometrics Ranking of World Universities of 2015 on February 10, 2015, which mentioned that Cairo University globally occupies the 474th rank .
Noteworthy, the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, globally known as the Spanish Ranking, have the authority to evaluate the quality of educational and research services of about 25, 000 universities and high institutes at the global level. Concerning universities inside Egypt, according to the Webometrics Ranking, The American University in Cairo has globally occupied the second place after Cairo University and the 1050th rank , followed by Mansoura University at the third place, then Benha University and Alexandria University.
