Community Service Sector, Convoys Administration at Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, has held honoring ceremony for the contributors and supporters of medical convoys, Rowing Club, Cairo University.
The ceremony has been attended by Prof. Dr.\ Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University, Dr.\ Ali Abdul-Rahman, Giza Governor, Dr.\ Hisham Atta, Deputy of Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr.\ Gamal Abdul-Nasser, Vice President of Cairo University for Community Service and Environment Development Affairs, Prof. Dr.\ Ezz-ul-Din Abu-Steit, Vice President of Cairo University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr.\ Hussein Khairy, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, faculties vice deans, and a group of staff members of Faculty of Medicine, who are participants in medical convoys, as well as many companies and sponsors of medical convoys.
The ceremony has been initiated with a short film on medical convoys which were organized by the faculty recently. The film included a review on the achievements of these convoys in many slums and the neediest remote villages.
Nassar has confirmed, in a speech he delivered at the ceremony, that Cairo University is keen on its societal role as well as the role it plays in serving the educational process and scientific research.
Participants and pharmaceutical companies which contributed to the convoys were honored and presented university shields and certificates of merit.
