The first cultural salon in the heritage field, entitled "Misconceptions about the Ancient Egyptian Civilization", has been organized in cooperation between Science Heritage Center – Cairo University and The New Central Library on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 11 a.m., at Seminars Hall, the third floor, The New Central Library.
The salon is managed by Dr.\ Hamed Eid, The Director of Science Heritage Center. The seminar was lectured by Dr.\ Alaa-el-Din Shahin, Professor of Egyptology and Former Dean of Faculty of Archaeology, Dr.\ Wasim El-Sisi, Professor of Urinary Tract Surgeries and Researcher of Egyptology. It was attended by a group of professors and specialists of the ancient Egyptian civilization field.
Hamed has illustrated that the meeting tackles a number of topics, such as; the ancient Egyptian belief in monotheism and the one God, law and justice were the basis of rule alike before law, building the pyramids was not a slave labor, building the pyramids is still a mystery, the Egyptian civilization was never a civilization of death, the ingenuity of the ancient Egyptians in medicine, engineering and astronomy.
