The tenth scientific international conference for Classical languages and literatures Department, entitled "The Individual and Society in Greek and Latin Lyric Poems and its Reflections on the Modern Era", is organized by Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, from March 7 – 9\2015, at 10 a.m., at Conference Hall, Faculty of Arts.
28 researchers from Egyptian, Arab and European universities participate in the conference with 20 researches from Egypt, 2 from Kuwait, 3 from Romania, 1 from Greece, 1 from Sweden, and 1 from Russia.
Professor Ali Abdul-Tawab Amin, Chair of Classical languages and literatures Department, has illustrated that the conference tackles several topics, such as; lyric poetry from environmental perspective, the ritual prevailing in Alexandria poetry, the symbolic significance of the chorus' chant about the human being , the features of lyric poetry in Alexandrian literature, the philosophical tendency in Greek baglama, the importance of self-restraint to the individual and society in tragic Greek poetry.
