Headed by Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar, Cairo University Council approved starting the study of an integrated program of accredited hour system of the expenses of B.Sc. degree in Medicine and Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, starting from the academic year 2015/2016. It is said by Prof. Dr. Hala Salah, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, that the new study program is based on a developed training system at hospitals starting from the first studying year, as well as syllabuses in communication skills, hospital management, and patient safety. It is scheduled that the program will include 150 students at a dedicated building and equipped study halls.
Cairo University Council has also approved starting the study at Department of Russian Language and Literature, at Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, starting from the coming academic year 2015/2016. It has also approved establishing Avian and Rabbit Medicine study program at B.Sc. stage, at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Cairo University Council has also approved allocating a piece of land affiliated to Faculty of Agriculture for establishing Animal Experiments Center through which scientific research ethics are implemented on animals. It has also approved establishing Center for Nile Basin Studies, at African Studies and Research Institute, Cairo University.
Cairo University Council has decided to increase the contribution of the university to the costs of international conferences held by the faculties and institutes of Cairo University to encourage the production of academic staff scientific publication in the name of Cairo University in international scientific journals and JAR journal for scientific research launched by Cairo University.
