Cairo University and Al-Ahram Foundation signed a partnership and cooperation agreement in training, publishing and advertising, whereby the utilization of the potentials of the two parties in training fields and skills development is made by the specialized centers available to the two parties. Cairo University grants Al-Ahram Advertising Agency the right of marketing and purchasing sponsorship rights to the activities and seminars organized by Cairo University inside its facilities whether in closed halls or open yards. This right includes advertising in different ways at Cairo University and its facilities in Cairo, Giza, and the university branch in Al-Sheikh Zayed, provided that those advertisements do not badly affect the civilization appearance and aesthetic aspect of the university without violating public policy and morality.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar, Cairo University President, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Sayed El-Naggar, CEO of Al-Ahram Foundation. This was witnessed by Prof. Dr. Said Daw, Cairo University Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Osman El-Khosht, Cairo University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hala Al-Said, Faculty of Economics and Political Science Dean, Prof. Dr. Gihan Yousry, Faculty of Mass Communication Dean, a number of faculty deans, Yousry Ibrahim Amin, Cairo University General Trustee, and some officials of Al-Ahram Foundation.
Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar, Cairo University President, said that cooperation between Cairo University and Al-Ahram Foundation is going to be based on two themes. The first theme is general protocol that organizes the utilization of the potentials exchanged between the two parties regarding presses, computer centers and libraries. He pointed out that there will be cooperation with Microfilm Ahram for copying documents and providing researchers with them, as well as archaeological documentation and rare coins. The second theme is related to the conclusion of a contract with Al-Ahram Advertising Agency.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Sayed El-Naggar said that Cairo University is not only an educational university, but is perceived as a massive cultural beacon. He pointed out that Al-Ahram Foundation is a national memory institution. Al-Naggar proceeded that the university started with a community that looked forward to making a beacon of science and knowledge so as to become a beacon that is connected to Egypt heritage.
