Cairo University President Continues Council Meetings, Determines Education Process, Examination Development Plans

The Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Council has been held by Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar, Cairo University President, in the presence of prof. Dr. Said Daw, Cairo University Vice-President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Faculties Vice-Deans for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. The developmental plan of community service, environmental development and sector strategy has been reviewed throughout the meeting for the coming phase. This plan is concerned with developing the working performance of centers and special units, affiliated to Cairo University Faculties, and activating their role in serving community as well as developing the university resources.

Cairo University President confirmed, throughout the meeting, the importance of the role of Community Service and Environmental Development Sector – Cairo University with its multiple and new roles whether in the current or the coming phase. Nassar pointed out that Community Service Sector at the university or faculty level is in charge of developing plans and strategies for renewing the roles it plays; most notably, openness to society by presenting different societal services in form of projects and research that serve society and develop the university resources as well.  

A meeting has been also held by Nassar at Faculty of Arts Council in the presence of Prof. Dr. Moataz Abdullah, Faculty of Arts Dean, Faculty Council members and Department Chairs. The developmental plans of the faculty educational process have been identified throughout the meeting, and the faculty needs concerning the sources of development needs have been discussed. Cairo University President has explained Faculty of Dar El-Ulum experience regarding providing students with reference books and university books and developing exam systems initiated by the faculty this year. Nassar has also stressed the importance of developing Teaching method development plan, and working on developing exam systems whether in BA stage or Post-Graduate stage. He confirmed the importance of scientific department role in the development work and considering student activities that develop student skills and contribute to raising their awareness and developing their abilities.

Prof. Dr. Moataz Abdullah, Faculty of Arts Dean, pointed out after the meeting that Cairo University President discussed Post-Graduate Regulation Development issue at the council meeting, and confirmed that the university is ready to undertake printing the reference books for faculty students and upholding them to eliminate sheets.

Cairo University President also held a meeting at Faculty of Law Council last week. He is to continue his meetings at the university faculty councils to determine the development plans of study and research process in faculties, especially with regard to developing examination and assessment systems. Additionally, determining faculty needs concerning educational process development in the framework of an inclusive plan to be initiated by the university, starting from the coming year at the level of practical and theoretical faculties as well as faculties with large numbers of students.
