Conference on Sacred Places in Religions at Cairo University

Oriental Studies Center, at Cairo University, organizes a conference, entitled ،،Sacred Places in Religions,, , in cooperation with Center for Interdisciplinary Study of Monotheistic Religions (CISMOR), Doshisha University. The conference will be held at 10 a.m., on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Oriental Studies Center, 1 El Shaheed Salah Abdel Hady St., In Front of Giza Security Directorate, Giza.

The conference is sponsored by Cairo University President Gaber Nassar, Cairo University Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs Amr Adly, The University Vice-President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Said Daw and Faculty of Arts Dean Moataz Abdullah.

،،The conference tackles several important themes; sacred places in Jewish thought, sacred places in Christian thought, sacred places in Islamic thought and sacred places in Positivist Religions. ,, , said The Director of Oriental Studies Center Naglaa Raafat Salem.

The conference also discusses sacred places in Oriental languages and literatures, sacred places and the conflict between the followers of different religions and the impact of sacred places on communities.
