Cairo University Allocates EGP 5, 000, 000 as First Stage for Carrying out Research Projects in Developmental Fields

Cairo University President Gaber Nassar said that ،،Cairo University is keen on boosting applied research projects of high societal priority developed by academic staff members contributing to suggesting solutions for the problems that face societal development.,, Nassar added, in press statements, that ،،Cairo University launched some applied research projects among academic staff members at different faculties of the university as a first stage for the applied research projects. These projects are approved by the strategic plan of Cairo University scientific researches 2015/2017 and financed with EGP 5, 200, 000. The projects are concerned with researches in endemic diseases treatment, agricultural strains improvement, alternative energy, slums development and water treatment and desalination.,,


Nassar pointed out that ،،Cairo University is committed to boosting the applied research projects that focuses on community service in different development fields and boosts international publication among academic staff members.,, He said that ،،Cairo University managed to overcome some problems that face scientific research among academic staff members including financing, renewing the needs of the central laboratory regarding the university self-resources costing EGP 30, 000, 000 and increasing research partnership at the local and international levels.,,


Nassar referred to the increase of international publication awards to 40% and the increase of the university contribution to academic staff members travelling abroad to attend international conferences with 100%. He pointed out that ،،the scientific research budget annually reaches EGP 200, 000, 000 wither from local and international partnership agreements or the self-resources of Cairo University.,,
