Cairo University Participates in Workshop at China on Mechanisms of Boosting Research and Innovation in Universities

Cairo University participates in a workshop at China on the efforts of major universities in encouraging research and innovation. The Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology called for the workshop within the Chinese initiative of the Belt and the Road. The workshop, which 20 global universities participated in its activities, is aimed at promoting stronger cooperation with the global universities participating in the Belt and Road initiative including Egypt in fields of research and innovation support. Cairo University Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs Amr Adly represented Cairo University, on the behalf of Cairo University President Gaber Nassar, in the workshop held at Shanghai University, at China, over three days.

Cairo University Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies Affairs Amr Adly delivered a lecture in the name of Cairo University on the efforts of the university in boosting research and innovation among academic staff members. The lecture tackled the mechanisms adopted by Cairo University to encourage the initiatives of applied research projects that serve developmental fields. The Vice-President talked about the patent office established by Cairo University as well as boosting international publication among researchers.

Some universities presidents and vice-presidents of 20 states participated in the workshop. Some participating universities called for holding partnership agreements with Cairo University in different research fields for it is the greatest university in the Middle East.

Cairo University won the largest number of awards from Scientific Research Academy that were recently announced. The university won 12 awards including the Nile Award that Cairo University former Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs Gamal Essmat won and the State Award of Merit won by Cairo University Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs Amr Adly.
