Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht refers, in his interview to Sabah On program broadcasted on On Live Channel, to the enlightening and cultural role of Cairo University in society. He pointed out that ،،The most important challenges that face Egypt are terrorism and cultural and ideological lag being caused by closed mentality and undeveloped religious discourse.,, He added ،،Cairo University constituted the Culture and Enlightenment Council, at the university, which is evidence of the civility of Cairo University that guarantees the right of citizenship for all and assures modernity, rationality, civility, coexistence, and acceptance of other individuals.
