Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht and the French Ambassador inaugurate the national office of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) at Cairo International University in 6th of October City
Dr. Elkhosht: Establishing the Agence aims to expand the scope of joint cooperation between CIU and French universities to provide training and entrepreneurship services to students and improve their professional integration into the global labor market.

Dr. Elkhosht: The AUF office at CIU will be a new bridge for joint cooperation with French universities and a platform for cultural, scientific and research exchange between Cairo and French universities.
Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, inaugurated the headquarters of the National Office of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in Egypt at Cairo International University in 6th of October City.
The opening was attended by M. Raphaël Martin Delagarde, Acting Ambassador of France to Egypt, Jean-Noël Baléo, Regional Director of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie in the Middle East, and Ambassador Fatima Zahraa Othman, Personal Representative of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Conseil Permanent de la Francophonie (CPF).
Dr. Elkhosht explained that the main goal of establishing an AUF office within Cairo International University is to expand the scope of cooperation between the university and the AUF to provide multiple services to students such as training, entrepreneurship, improving their professional integration into the global labor market, and organizing conferences, seminars, and meetings with institutions on various social and economic issues. He pointed out that CIU’s strategic plan aims to develop entrepreneurial thinking, project management, training programs to prepare for the labor market, and training in small business projects.
Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht stressed that the opening of the AUF office at CIU will be a new bridge of cooperation for joint and mutual interaction between Egypt and France, noting that the AUF headquarters at Cairo International University will be a platform for cultural, scientific and research exchange between Cairo University and French universities
For her part, Ambassador Fatima Zahraa Othman, Personal Representative of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the CPF, emphasized the importance of the AUF and praised the cooperation with Cairo University, noting that the opening of the AUF office at CIU will constitute a new bridge for cooperation and interaction, stressing the AUF’s pivotal role in strengthening cultural, scientific and research ties between Cairo University and French universities.
It is worth noting that the head of the AUF visited Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht in his office in May 2021 to discuss measures to enhance cooperation between Cairo University and the AUF in the educational and cultural fields and to study opening a national AUF office within the university. Dr. Mohamed Elkhosht also signed a cooperation agreement with the AUF to establish its headquarters at Cairo University on September 6, 2022, in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Salim Khalbous, then Director of the AUF, and Jean-Noël Baléo, Regional Director of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie in the Middle East.
