Date :2015-09-06 19:11:15

Concerning its statement on Tuesday, 1/9/2015, about what was published in some newspapers and websites about the demand of Cairo University as regard to the building affiliated to the university at El-Dokki, being occupied by Egyptian E-Learning University (EELU) as a temporary headquarter, Cairo University confirmed that it will adopt legal procedures to evacuate the building and submit it to Cairo University as soon as possible. Cairo University hand over the whole building located at 33 Mesaha St., El-Dokki to Egyptian E-Learning University on 14/3/2007.

This was for a period not more than five years as a temporary headquarter on the basis of the agreement of rehabilitating the building on the expense of Egyptian E-Learning University (EELU) without any other exchange. The agreement was also related to submitting the building to Cairo University on 13/3/2012, provided that Egyptian E-Learning University (EELU) takes the form of a national university. However, as the statement of Cairo University stated, the issue was doomed to EELU remaining as a private university which violates law, as it is not permitted in any way the allocation of public money which is owned by the Cairo University in favor of a private university whatever its name or legal form. More than three years have passed since the end of the five years agreed upon, and EELU did not take any step to submit the building to Cairo University. A resolution was issued by The Prime Minister, after the legal study of the advisors of the cabinet of ministers, to give the headquarter back to Cairo University, as the legal study has concluded that remaining EELU at the building affiliated to Cairo University is not based on any legal act, the matter that requires its immediate handover to Cairo University.

Cairo University statement has clarified that the university will take all the available legal procedures to take its building back from EELU as it is in an intense need to it. Moreover, the continuity of this situation violates true law.
