Cairo University is pleased to announce the establishment of an international prize in Mathematical Sciences and Their Applications in memory of Atiya A. Ashour (1924 – 2017).
The prize aims at the recognition of excellence in research in mathematics and its applications; considered a basic pillar for scientific progress.
The Atiya A. Ashour prize in Mathematical Sciences and Their Applications will be awarded annually to a researcher in the field of Mathematics and its applications working in Egypt or in an Arab or African Country.
Conditions:
• The applicant must be a member of the academic staff of a university or a research center in Egypt or in one of the Arab or African countries.
• The applicant should have produced a body of outstanding research; attested by publications in recognizable journals.
Nomination Procedure:

The following pieces should be attached:
1. Reprints of five (5) papers published by the applicant in recognizable journals in the last five years (2013 – 2017).
2. An official attestation from the employing institution that the applicant is currently part of the academic staff of a university or a research center in Egypt or one of the Arab or African countries.
3. A complete Curriculum Vitae of the applicant including the bio information, scientific degrees obtained (for each degree mention the awarding institution and date), positions held (for each position mention the name of the institution, the title of the position and the dates the position was held) and the h-index of the applicant.
4. A complete list of publications. For each research article the list should mention:
a. The impact factor for the periodical according to Thomson ISI.
b. The citation index of the article according to Scopus.
c. The periodical’s ISSN.
d. The Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC 2010) of the article.
e. Complete publication data is required for books or parts of books authored by the applicant.
5. A list of Scientific honors received by the applicant.
6. A list of scientific institutions (societies, academies … etc.) to which the applicant is attached, with mention of the applicant’s role in each.
7. A list of scientific journals of which the applicant is a member of the editorial board.
