Cairo University Conference on Reducing the Risks of Livestock, Poultry and Fish Production in Egypt

Sponsored by Prof. Dr. Salah Helal, Minister of Agriculture and Lands Reclamation, and Prof. Dr. Ghada Waly, Minister of Social Solidarity, and Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University, Egyptian Society of Animal Management, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, holds its seventh scientific conference, entitled "Risk Reduction of Livestock, Poultry and Fish", from August 26 to August 30, 2015, at Cairo and Sharm El-Sheikh in participation with a group of experts, specialists and researchers from different Egyptian universities and some participants from Arabic and foreign countries.
On Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at 10 a.m., Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University, inaugurates the conference at Conference Hall, Faculty of Agriculture Library where the opening session will be held to include a scientific seminar on the challenges that face poultry industry at Egypt, suggested solutions, and the role of health procedures in reducing poultry viral diseases. A number of professors and experts of veterinary medicine will speak in the opening seminar. The activities of the conference are completed at Sharm El-Sheikh throughout 4 days for discussing the work papers and researches presented at the conference. This was declared by Prof. Dr. Rabie Hassan Fayed, Professor of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, and Conference Chair. He pointed out that the conference revolves around 6 themes concerning the role of vaccination and biosafety in reducing the risks of viral diseases in poultry, such as; bird flu, infectious bronchitis, and Foot and Mouth Disease in animals, strategies of controlling common diseases between humans and animals, reducing the dangers of food of animal origin on human health, the challenges that face fish farming in Egypt, the dangers of using antibiotics in treating poultry diseases, and the role of nutrition in reducing the risks of poultry industry. The conference is concluded with preparing the recommendations reached in order to protect the production of animal and poultry in Egypt.
