Cairo University Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Research Receives Distinguished Alumni Award from University of Maryland

Prof. Dr. Amr Adly, Cairo University Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Research, received Distinguished Alumni Award from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Maryland. It is an award that is presented every year to three of the department graduates, and submitted in a ceremony at the university headquarter at Maryland, on May 13. The award was presented to Prof. Dr. Amr Adly, who received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, in 1992, for his distinguished record in international publications, scientific awards, national system management in financing research, and linking scientific research with industrial and technological requirements.
Noteworthy, Prof. Dr. Amr Adly, Cairo University Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Research, received B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering, from Cairo University, in years 1984 and 1987. After that, he received his PhD. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, at the United States of America, in year 1992. In the period from year1993 to 1994, he worked as a design expert in one of the industrial authorities at Michigan, the USA, and was appointed at Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, in year 1994. He worked a consultant for many national industrial authorities, and established the program of Research, Development, and European Innovation for the Arab Republic of Egypt, with 11 million Euro budget. He managed a joint program with Ministry of Scientific Research of 100 million EGP value to increase the value added to national Egyptian industry. Prof. Dr. Amr Adly received many awards, including State Incentive Award, Shoman Award for Arab Researchers, and State Scientific Excellence Award.
