Cairo University Organizes Anti-Harassment and Combating Violence Against Women Training Courses for Its Employees

Anti-Harassment and Combating Violence Against Women Unit at Cairo University starts its first training courses to raise the awareness of employees at different administrations of the university and central administration. Employees are informed about social and legal frameworks of anti-harassment and combating violence against women and the role of Cairo University in this regard. The training courses are sponsored by Cairo University President Gaber Nassar. They are attended by Cairo University Secretary-General Yousry Ibrahim Amin and the unit officials. The courses organized for Cairo University administrative apparatus are held at Seminars Hall at Open Education building on Monday in the second and fourth week of every month during the period from July 10, 2017, to September 27, 2017. The courses program includes panel discussions and lectures delivered by officials from Anti-Harassment Unit at Cairo University. They are the Anti-Harassment Unit Director Maha Al-Said, the Vice-Director of the unit Ghada Ali and Faculty of Law Vice-Dean Abdel- Moneim Zamzam who lectures legal frameworks of combating harassment and violence against women. These courses come within the framework of the unit activities in the university society including students, academic staff members and employees. The courses focus on introducing the methods of anti-harassment and combating violence against women under the slogan of ،،Safe University for All,,.
The Anti-Harassment Unit at Cairo University has a mission that targets Cairo University youth by disseminating knowledge among them on equality, enhancing protection for women from violence and raising awareness that academic education is safe for all. This mission is achieved through a group of activities that students, academic staff members and employees participate in.
Prof. Dr. Maha Al-Said said that ،،the results of post-course exam conducted in the first course for the university employees show change in concepts and behaviors towards the best.,,
Prof. Dr. Ghada Ali announces that Anti-Harassment Unit participate in the activities of the Future Leaders Camp organized by Cairo University for its students by delivering a lecture for each regiment of the six regiments to raise the awareness of students against harassment and how to combat it. This is included within the framework of a program organized by the unit in cooperation with United Nations Organization for Women.
