Cairo University Senate: ،Five Faculty Members Terminated for Dropping out of Work

New Appointments, Promotions, and Scientific Titles Granted to Group of Faculty Members at Different Faculties
Cairo University Senate, headed by Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht, approves some appointments, promotions, and granting scientific titles to a group of faculty members at different faculties and institutes including 11 professors, 16 assistant professors, and 18 lecturers.
Cairo University decides terminating 5 faculty members for dropping out of work without permission. The decision is taken according to memorandums presented by their faculties and presented to Cairo University Senate.
The terminated five faculty members are from Faculty of Computers and Information, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, and National Cancer Institute. Assistant Professor from Faculty of Computers and Information dropped out of work. Teacher Assistant from Faculty of Commerce is absent since June 10, 2016. Teacher Assistant from Faculty of Medicine is absent since April 18, 2017. Teacher Assistant from Faculty of Engineering is absent since June 1, 2017. The study vacation and service of Teacher Assistant from National Cancer Institute is ended since the date of resignation approval at department council on November 5, 2017.
Elkhosht said that these decisions come in the light of memorandums presented from faculties regarding faculty members dropping out of work without excuse. The decisions are taken in the framework of educational process, discipline, and law implementation inside the university.
Cairo University Senate approves renewing understanding memorandum between Cairo University and Latvia University at Russia in education, training, and research. The senate also approves understanding memorandum between Cairo University and Surrey University at the United Kingdom in veterinary medicine research.
Cairo University President acclaims cooperation between Cairo University and Giza Governorate recently incorporating 5 university professors in different disciplines into Giza advisory senate including Cairo University President. The university professors are expected to present their advice to executive agencies to promote the level of service presented to Giza residents in the framework of social role of Cairo University towards Giza Governorate.
