El-Belkiny, Beshr, Tawfik, and Handousa are nominated for Nile Award, Hussein Khaled, Mohamed Asaad, and Awatef Abdul Rahman are nominated for State Appreciation Award

On 26/12/2012, Cairo University's Council, headed by Dr.\ Hossam Kamal, President of University, has approved in its meeting nominations of faculties and university institutes for winning the state's awards for 2012. Nile awards and State Appreciation Award are given in fields of science, advanced technological science, arts, and social sciences.

In Nile Award with its different fields, the council approved nominating Dr.\Mohamed Nabil El-Belkiny, in field of Science, Dr.\ Mohamed Foua'ad Tawfik, Professor of Faculty of Agriculture, in field of Advanced Technological Science, Dr.\ Kamal Mohamed Beshr, Professor of Faculty of Dar El-Ulum, in field of Arts, and Dr.\ Tohfa Ahmed Handousa, Professor of Faculty of Archaeology, in field of Social Science.

Concerning State Appreciation Award in different Science fields, the council nominated Dr.\Mohamed Asaad Mohamed, Professor of Faculty of Science, in field of Essential Science, Dr.\Hussien Khaled, Professor of National Cancer Institute and Previous Minister of Higher Education, in field of Medical Science, Dr.\ Amr Amin Mohamed, Professor of Faculty of Engineering, in field of Engineering Science, and Dr.\ Mohamed Abdul Aziz Zaher, Professor of Faculty of Agriculture, in field of Agricultural Science.

Concerning state Appreciation Award in field of Advanced Technological Science, the council approved nominating Dr.\Yehia Abdul Hamid, Previous Dean of National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences (NILES), in field of Essential Science, Dr.\ Mohamed Said Abdul Aziz, Professor of Engineering Science field, and Dr.\ Amira Mokhtar Khorshid, Professor of National Cancer Institute, in field of Medical Science, and Dr.\ Radwan Sedky Farag, Professor of Faculty of Agriculture, in field of Agricultural Science.

Moreover, the council nominated Dr.\ Yassin El-Sayed Zidan, Professeor of Faculty of Archaeology, for State Appreciation Award in art, Dr.\ Ahmed Mohamed Etman, Professor of Faculty of Arts, for State Appreciation Award in Arts, and Dr.\ Awatef Abdul Rahman, Professor of Faculty of Mass Communication, for State Appreciation Award in Social Science.
