A Confucius Institute for teaching Chinese language established a at Cairo University Celebration of cultural art on the occasion of the end of summer activity for the academic year 2009 / 2010 and the start of the activities of the winter in the academic year 2010 / 2011, and included a celebration
attended by students of Egyptian and Chinese professors of the Institute and representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Cairo and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts University Dr. Zainal Abidin Abu-Khadra, and cultural performances on the stage of the conference room on campus for students of the university reflect the communication between the Egyptian and Chinese civilizations and life in the two countries. It was also during the celebration honoring the 30 students returned from the excellent performance of China after the free training course for 3 months at the University of Beijing for the development of abilities in the Chinese language have been distributed free of scholarships to new students.

Rehab Mahmoud, director of the Confucius Institute at Cairo University for the start of the program of educational and cultural activities for the academic year 2010 / 2011 which includes a number of training courses in Chinese language education to Egyptians and meetings with intellectual and cultural spin on the cultural interaction between Egypt and China with the participation of professors and intellectuals from the two countries. The Institute plans to an interactive forum during the current academic year for the exchange of experience teaching Chinese language in Egypt with the participation of professors, the Egyptians and Chinese in order to develop teaching methods and curricula for teaching the Chinese language in the framework of activating the protocol of cooperation between Cairo University and the National Council of China to teach Chinese language in the world and Beijing University.
It is worth mentioning that out of the sessions of the Confucius Institute at more than 450 scholars and study since its inception at the University of Cairo in 2007, in cooperation with the Chinese government and won a number of Egyptian students on scholarships to complete their studies in China.
