Faculty of Physical Therapy Convenes First International Student Conference for Scientific Research

 The first international student conference for scientific research for Faculty of Physical Therapy, at Cairo University, is held at Conference Center, at Cairo University Hostel, on Thursday and Friday, November 30 and December 1, 2017. The conference is sponsored by Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht. It is entitled ،Scientific Research for Better Practice., The student conference work is supervised by Acting Dean of Faculty of Physical Therapy Alaa Balbaa and Faculty of Physical Therapy Vice-Dean for Education and Students Gihan El-Meniawy. Nearly 500 Egyptian and foreign students of faculties of physical therapy participate in the conference activities.

The conference is aimed at developing student ability to think creatively, conduct scientific research, run their own business, and work through research groups. It is also aimed at raising student awareness of the importance of putting scientific research into practice.

The conference is instituted under the seniority of Faculty of Physical Therapy in the Middle East and winning international accreditation. A seminar entitled ،Cairo University and Transformation into Third-Generation University (Smart University), is to be held as one of the conference activities. The conference is convened within the plan being developed by Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht regarding transforming the university into a system based on entrepreneurship by graduating knowledge producers. The seminar is held at Conferences Hall, at Cairo University Hostel, on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 1 p.m.

Faculty of Physical Therapy Vice-Dean for Education and Student Affairs Gihan El-Meniawy said that the most important themes of student scientific research conference are the preventive measures of physical therapy, and evidence-based practice of physical therapy. The conference also focuses on new technology in evaluation and treatment, innovative models in physical therapy, enhancing the professional practice quality, besides physiotherapy manual treatment, sports injuries, habilitation, and arthritis pain treatment.
