Cairo University Organizes Anti-Harassment Training Courses for Female Students

 The Anti-Harassment and Combating Violence against Women Unit Cairo University organizes self-defense against harassment training courses for female students in collaboration with the Anti-harassment Unit Vice-President Ghada Ali.


 


The first training course for self-defense tactics against harassment provided to female students started at Sport Police Union headquarter and supervised by elite of Ministry of Interior female police officers and sport expert Lim Min-soo. Prof. Dr. Ghada Ali said that the single workshop includes 20 students with three days for each. She pointed out that these courses are part of the cooperation between Cairo University and Sport Police Union regarding sport.


Anti-Harassment and Combating Violence against Women Unit participated last year in a global campaign sponsored by UN Women with a group of activities for raising awareness of violence against women. The activities were sponsored by Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht under the slogan of ،Cairo University Youth are Facing Violence against Women.,


The unit has chosen a mission that is aimed at disseminating knowledge among Cairo University youth with regard to equality and enhancing women protection from violence.  The mission of the unit is intended to raise the awareness that university education is safe for all through a group of activities which students, faculty members, and employees participate in.
