Cairo University President Meets French Ambassador to Discuss Aspects of Cooperation with French Universities

Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht meets the Ambassador of France in Cairo Stephane Roumtier at office at Cairo University to discuss cooperation between Cairo University and French Universities.

Elkhosht assures in the meeting the aspiration of Cairo University to break new ground for academic cooperation with French Universities. He pointed out that there is already cooperation between the two sides; such as the joint degree between Faculty of Economics and Political Science and Paris University, and Legal Studies Program in French between Faculty of Law and Sorbonne.

Cairo University President shows some ideas related to means of cooperation between Cairo University and French Universities in some academic and cultural fields within the framework of scientific and professional standards. Such ideas are, for example, joint scientific degrees of B.Sc. and BA in different disciplines at the international branch of Cairo University that is scheduled to be established at 6th of October City. Cairo University International Branch is based on joint scientific degrees with foreign universities.

The Ambassador of France in Cairo said that he wants to get more information about Cairo University International Branch at 6th of October City and the cooperative potential in international relations context. Stephane Roumtier added that the relation between Egypt and France is an ancient historical relation especially in academic and educational aspects.

The French Ambassador refers to the importance of increasing the space of academic exchange between Cairo University and French Universities. He pointed out that Cairo University is one of the most ancient universities in the Middle East. He assures his wish to sign cooperation protocol between Cairo University and French Universities. He added that Egypt image is positively and historically perceived by France.

Cairo University President and the French Ambassador witness the graduation celebration of seventh class for joint certificate between Paris University and Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University, with Faculty Dean Mahmoud Elsaid, professors and students attending.
