Activating Scientific Cooperation between Cairo University and Japanese Universities is Recommended by Faculty of Arts, Cairo University

A symposium, entitled “The Reality of Japanese Studies in the Arab World”, has been held in the period from 16 to 18 November, 2014, at Conference Hall, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University. Some Japanese Universities, which signed cultural protocol with Cairo University, have participated in the conference in cooperation with Japan Information and Culture Center, Embassy of Japan at Cairo, Japanese Organization for International Cooperation. A group of faculty professors and academics from different Japanese Universities have attended the symposium.

Professor Karam Khalil, Chairman of the Japanese Department, has declared that the symposium has been concluded by several recommendations which were suggested by the participant researchers. They are confirming continuing and deepening scientific and cultural dialogue between Cairo University and the Japanese Universities. Activating the items of scientific agreements between Cairo University and the Japanese Universities especially post-graduate students, activating research studies in fields of linguistic, literary and intellectual Japanese Studies, holding regular meetings that gather specialists in Japanese studies fields at Cairo University and the Japanese Universities, founding the scientific assembly for Japanese studies aiming at encouraging scientific research in Japanese studies field, organizing this symposium regularly at Cairo University in November every year, issuing a special volume of conference research in scientific journal, organizing annual scientific conference with the Japanese Universities which signed cultural protocol with Cairo University to activate scientific cooperation between Japanese Universities, activating intra studies between the Japanese Department and other departments of the Faculty of Arts, updating the department’s graduates data for continuous connection between graduates through Alumni Association of Japanese Language Department, activating cooperation with The Information and Culture Center at embassy of Japan and cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), speeding up the issuance of the symposium’s work in the department’s scientific journal and presenting the research presented at the symposium provided that the deadline of submitting research is on January 31, 2015.

Noteworthy, research presentation conditions are being written in one of the following languages (Japanese – Arabic – English) in MS word form until May, 31, 2015 provided that Arabic, or Japanese, or English summary is attached with the research.
