Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar: Cairo University Hospitals Received 87000 Patients at Outpatient Clinics

Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar: Cairo University Hospitals received 87000 patients at outpatient clinics and 36000 at Units of Reception and Emergency throughout a month as well as conducting more than 5000 surgical operations for patients.
Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University, reviewed a report on the performance of Cairo University hospitals throughout June 2015. The report has already been prepared by Medical Statistics and Records Administration. It includes statistics and numbers on citizen therapy throughout June 2015 at Cairo University hospitals: El Manial Reception and Emergency Hospital (Old Kasr Al Aini), Internal Diseases Hospital, Emergency Hospital, El Mounira Children Hospital, Children Japanese Hospital, Center for Preventive Medicine, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Oncology Center, Renal Insufficiency Center, Critical Care Center, Renal Center, Psychological Medicine and Drug Control Hospital, Poisoning Control Center, El Manial Specialized University Hospital.
Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar announced that the total cases of patients and emergencies reception at Cairo University Hospitals throughout June 2015 reached 35, 827 cases distributed on Reception and Emergency Units at Cairo University Hospitals at a rate of 1194 cases per day. El Manial Reception and Emergency University Hospital (Old Kasr Al Aini) received 18, 672 cases at various departments at rate of 52% of the total number of reception cases at the university hospitals. Reception cases at El Mounira Children Hospital reached 8, 549 cases at rate of 24% of the total number of patients reception at the university hospitals, and Japanese Children University Hospital has reached 3, 587 cases throughout the same month at rate of 10%. The report also illustrated that the numbers of the citizens frequenting on outpatient clinics at the university hospitals throughout June 2015 to conduct medical examinations have reached 87, 335 cases including 38, 592 cases at the clinics of El Manial University Hospital at rate of 44% of the total number of the visitors of outpatient clinics at the university hospitals and its units.
The performance report of Cairo University Hospitals has shown that the total number of the patients held in check at Cairo University Hospitals throughout June 2015 has reached 18, 712 patients at the interior departments of El Manial University Hospitals, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Japanese Children University Hospital, El Mounira Children Hospital, Emergency Hospital, Renal Insufficiency Center, Internal Diseases Hospital, Poisoning Control Center, El Manial Specialized Hospital, Oncology Radiation Center, Critical Care Center, Operations Care Unit, and Psychological Medicine and Drug Control Hospital. The report revealed that the various care cases conducted throughout June 2015 reached 329 cases at El Manial Specialized Hospital, 172 cases at Reception and Emergency Hospital, 32 Gynecology and Obstetrics cases, 398 cases at Critical Care Unit, 43 internal diseases cases, 422 cases at Japanese Children Hospital, 13 cases at Abul Rish Children Hospital, and 175 cases at El Manial Specialized Hospital.
The report has shown that the surgical operations conducted at the university hospitals throughout June 2015 reached 5, 511 surgical operations. More than 7000 ultrasonic rays, more than 3000 diagnostic telescopes, about 34000 normal rays, and 8000 trans sectional rays were conducted to patients. 1256 magnetic resonance rays were conducted to patients, as well as 2802 tumor therapeutic rays, 43965 analyses including 22000 analyses at the main laboratory of El Manial University Hospital (Old Kasr Al Aini), 457 brain imaging cases, 349 muscle imaging cases, and 102 dialysis cases of kidney patients.
Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar said that in spite of the large numbers of the patients frequenting on Cairo University Hospitals System, the service has witnessed enhancement during the previous period. There are plans made by the university and Kasr Al Aini Administration and its professors to develop that system that aims at offering good therapeutic service to citizens for free. He added that Kasr Al Aini will remain the citadel of therapy and medicine beacon at Egypt, confirming the interest of the state in Kasr Al Aini. Nassar pointed out that operation units and critical care at El Manial University Hospital (Old Kasr Al Aini) were supplied with 46 margin air conditioners donated by professors.
