Minister of Military Production Mohamed Al-Assar and Cairo University President Gaber Nassar Inaugurate Solar Power Plant at Cairo University

The Minister of Military Production Mohamed Al-Assar and Cairo University President Gaber Nassar inaugurate solar power plant, at Cairo University Hostel, of 660 KW. It is manufactured by the military production for feeding the university hostel buildings costing EGP 8, 000, 000.
The Minister of Military Production Mohamed Al-Assar said, during the plant inauguration at the university hostel, that ،،Cairo University witnesses during the presidency of Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar great steps towards development and updating. There is a productive cooperation between Cairo University and the Ministry of Military Production in many projects.,, The minister pointed out that ،،Military production has distinctive potentials in solar power production.,, He added ،،There are 24 projects of electrical power plant production through solar power all over Egypt governorates.,,
The Minister of Military Production said that ،،The ministry gives priority for military products.,, He added ،،Working on other projects results in surplus capacity in production which contributes to these projects for the interest of the Egyptian state.,,
Cairo University President Gaber Nassar said that ،،Solar power plant at Cairo University, established in cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production, covers 13 buildings of the university hostel.,, He pointed out that ،،A solar power plant is under construction at Faculty of Agriculture.,,
Nassar added that ،،The electricity power consumption cost at Cairo University is nearly EGP 30, 000, 000 per year.,, He proceeded ،،This mounted the university to use solar power to reduce the burden on the national electricity grid and limit electrical power consumption at the university buildings.,,
Nassar referred to the cooperation of Cairo University and the Ministry of Production in carrying out a new project aimed at changing water taps at the university buildings into ones that work by pressure to reduce water consumption. Cairo University buildings are supplied with nearly 17,000 water taps.
