Cairo University Receives Japanese Delegation to Discuss Sewage Treatment, Biofuel Energy Generation Project

Cairo University received, last week, a Japanese delegation from Nagoya University and Kyoto University. The delegation comes to discuss the implementation mechanisms of joint applied research project presented from Cairo University for sewage treatment and biofuel energy generation from human and agricultural wastes in the localization framework of processing decentralized three-dimensional technology in Egypt.

Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht earlier urged presenting research proposals for applications related to solving national problems and benefitting from distinguished global experiences in applied research. He also urged fostering cooperation between Cairo University and universities and scientific institutions abroad in applied research projects of concerns to the state including the project of sewage treatment and biofuel energy generation in cooperation with Japanese experience.

Elkhosht added that ،،Cairo University has research priorities in serving national projects including alternative energy production, desert reclamation by innovative low-cost methods, and endemic diseases treatment.,,

The joint meeting between Cairo University and Nagoya and Kyoto universities is attended by Cairo University Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Amr Adly, former Minister of Scientific Research Sherif Hammad, the project supervisor Mohamed Zaky Oweis and researchers in project.

The project of sewage treatment and biofuel energy generation from human and agricultural wastes is one of applied research projects at Cairo University. It is carried out in cooperation with Japanese experience and Academy of Scientific Research & Technology, and funded by the Japanese government.

The Japanese delegation acclaims, in the visit conclusion, Cairo University efforts in low-cost decentralized localization system for sewage treatment.
