Cairo University President Meets Japanese Ambassador and Accompanying Delegation to Discuss Aspects of Cooperation with Japanese Universities

Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht meets Japanese Ambassador in Cairo Takihiro Kagawa and his accompanying delegation at Cairo University on January 30, 2018, to discuss aspects of cooperation between Japanese Universities and Cairo University.
The meeting is witnessed by Cairo University Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs Amr Adly, Faculty of Dar El-Ulum Dean Elsayed Fahim, Faculty of Agriculture Dean Amr Mostafa, Cairo University Hospitals Manager Ahmed Sobhy, Abu-Rish Pediatric Hospital Manager Rania Hegazy, Cultural Attaché for Japanese Embassy in Cairo, and group of professors
The Japanese Ambassador discusses with Cairo University President means of fostering cooperation between Cairo University and Japanese Universities in the light of Egyptian and Japanese aspirations to supporting and developing relations between the two countries in different fields. He assures the importance of extending cooperation fields to include student and academic exchange and scientific research and training.
Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht said that some topics related to cooperation fields with Japanese Universities are discussed in the meeting. They discussed cooperation protocols between Cairo University and Japanese Universities to implement joint scientific degrees in B.Sc. and B.A. in some faculties provided that these degrees become part of Cairo University international programs to be prepared at 6th of October City. The idea of Cairo University international programs is based on joint programs with foreign universities.
Elkhosht added that the meeting tackles cooperation established between Cairo University and Japan in the project of developing and habilitating Abu-Rish Japanese Hospital and Cairo University preparation for training teachers at new Japanese schools in Egypt according to Japanese government programs in this field. The meeting also tackles benefitting from Japanese professors in faculty members skills development courses. Elkhosht assures the importance of enhancing scientific cooperation, exchanged visits of faculty members, and cultural exchange.
Japanese Ambassador in Cairo Takihiro Kagawa said that Egyptian President Abdel-Fatah Elsisi shows great aspiration during his meeting with Japanese Prime Minister to fostering cooperation horizons with Japan in education through implementing Japanese education systems in Egyptian schools.
The Japanese Ambassador pointed out that there are nearly 2500 Egyptian students are deployed at Japan within 5 years in many fields including medicine, engineering, and agriculture. He assures that the Japanese State looks forward to strengthening and empowering relations with Egyptian Universities including Cairo University. He added that Soka University receives many Egyptian students. More than 20 Japanese Professors from Soka University go to Cairo University, besides Cairo University Center for Japanese Studies that contributes to supporting cultural relations between the two countries.
