Elkhosht: ،Students Respond to Problem-Solving Question at Cairo University Exams,

Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht receives a report on exams progress at faculties and problem-solving question implementation. The report assures that students respond to problem-solving question which the university started to implement in second term exams of academic year 2017/2018 according to the nature and study of each faculty with considering differences between disciplines.

 Cairo University Senate earlier decided to add problem-solving question in second term exams for 2017/2018 within the framework of developing assessment and exam systems.

Cairo University President said that problem-solving question aims at training students to think scientifically to face problems by collecting information and posing hypotheses and scenarios to choose the most suitable hypotheses for solving a problem. He added that the age of memorization has finished because it causes forming closed minds.

Elkhosht illustrates that problem-solving question has multiple methods. There is no right or wrong answer for this question, but points of view that applies scientific thinking method. He pointed out that Cairo University works in many directions to develop educational process and exam systems through problem-solving question, critical thinking and entrepreneurship study subjects as study requirement in the upcoming years. He added that any development in educational process should be gradual and prepared to without surprises.
