Confucius Institute at Cairo University Organizes Cultural Day at Egyptian Museum and Audience Interacts with Shows

Elkhosht: Confucius Institute at Cairo University Being Bridge for Cultural Civilizational and Strategic Exchange between Egypt and China
Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, Minister of Antiquities Khaled Al Anany and Chinese Ambassador in Egypt Song Aicoh sponsor a cultural day held by Confucius Institute Cairo University at the Egyptian Museum. Students of Confucius Institute presented varied artistic shows that express Chinese culture and life such as Taiji show, playing Chinese musical instruments and performing Chinese dancing and singing shows. The students have also presented some Chinese arts such as calligraphy and origami as well as some handcrafts. The institute students presented Dragon-Chinese art and some shows that highlight different aspects of Chinese culture.
Elkhosht said that Cairo University Confucius Institute represents a bridge of cultural, civilizational and strategic exchange between Egypt and China as well as allowing Chinese language study. He pointed out that Confucius represents an integrated civilization to him because it presents a lot about tolerance, cooperation, dialog, and openness to the Other. He added that Confucius Institute Cairo University is important because of Chinese language and culture learning. He said that Cairo University seeks providing joint scientific degrees with Chinese Universities not only in language but in all scientific fields as well thanks to the close relations between Egypt and China.
The Manager of Confucius Institute Cairo University Rehab Mahmoud said that Egyptian and foreign audience of the Egyptian Museum visitors interacted with the shows that the institute students presented.
Confucius Institute at Cairo University was earlier awarded the best Confucius Institute prize at the world level on Chinese language learning in December 2016. Cairo University established the institute under the convention between Cairo University and Beijing University and China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (NOTCFL) in 2007 to bridge cooperation between Egypt and China.
