Cairo University achieves significant leaps in the Times Arab Rankings for 2024, ranking eighth among Arab universities and first among Egyptian universities.
Prof Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek: The university has advanced from the 28th position last year to the 8th position in 2024 among Arab universities.
The University President: I congratulate the Cairo University family on this new achievement, which is part of a series of accomplishments by the university. The latest is its 39th place globally in the Times Subject Rankings, which ranks leading Egyptian and African universities.
Prof Mahmoud El-Said, Vice President of Cairo University for Postgraduate Studies and Research: The results achieved by the university reflect its commitment to continuous development in research fields, international publication, and adherence to global standards.
Cairo University has continued its successes in international rankings, securing the 8th position in the Times Arab Rankings, leading all Egyptian universities. In the 2024 rankings, it also ranked 8th at the Arab level. This marks an improvement from 28th place in the 2023 rankings and 33rd place in 2022.
Prof Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek, President of Cairo University, stated that this achievement adds to the universitys recent accomplishments. He pointed out that the university recently ranked 39th globally among 749 universities from 92 countries and regions in the Times Subject Rankings (Multidisciplinary Science Rankings) released last November. This ranking, the first of its kind, measures universities’ contributions and commitment to this type of science. In this ranking, the university ranked first in Egypt and Africa.
Prof Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek added that with its prestigious status and academic leadership, Cairo University is naturally at the forefront of Egyptian and Arab universities. He extended his congratulations to the Cairo University community, including faculty members, ancillary staff, employees, and students, for this achievement.
For his part, Prof Mahmoud El-Said, Vice President of Cairo University for Graduate Studies and Research, affirmed that the global achievements of Cairo University crown its continuous efforts to develop the universitys research system, enhance the quality of research, and publish it internationally. He added that this accomplishment in the Times Arab Rankings reflects the university’s dedication to continuing academic and research development processes, thereby strengthening its role as a leading force in research and services in the regional and international arenas.
