Professor Gaber Nassar Discusses Fields of Scientific Research Development at Cairo University with the Egyptian Scientist Mostafa A. El-Sayed

 Professor Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University, has hosted the Egyptian scientist Professor Mostafa A. El-Sayed, Julius Brown Chair at Georgia Institute of Science and Technology, US. This is in the context of the visit of the Egyptian scientist to Cairo University. The meeting has been attended by Professor Gamal Essmat, Vice President of Cairo University for Graduate Studies and Research, Professor Gamal Abdul-Nassar, Vice President of Cairo University for Community Service and Environment Development, Professor Lotfeya Al-Nady, and Dean of Faculty of Science at the university. The meeting has tackled the role played by the scientific research, especially Nanotechnology applications in developing economics and industry, and the role of universities in enhancing its potentials so as to be effective in developing society.



Professor Mostafa A. El-Sayed has expressed his readiness for cooperation with Cairo University in the field of boosting the university research plan. He commended the level Cairo University reached in the field of applied research associated with societal priorities, as well as the increase of international publication and the scientific research internationally published in the international scientific society.



Professor Gaber Nassar has declared that he invited the great Egyptian scientist for delivering a lecture at Cairo University in the framework of the cultural and artistic season of the university. The date of the meeting has been scheduled to be on February 12 at Grand Celebration Hall, Cairo University. Nassar has expressed his appreciation to the Egyptian scientist’s initiative for cooperation with Cairo University in scientific research field and his approval of joining the Board of Directors of Nanotechnology Center affiliated to Cairo University for benefiting in this field with other Egyptian scientists, as well as his readiness for joining the expertise house founded by the university to include scientists from Cairo University and Egyptian scientists from abroad for boosting the efforts of scientific research development in Cairo University.



The Egyptian scientist Mostafa A. El-Sayed has confirmed the necessity of coping with the world nowadays in searching for new resources and ideas in Nanotechnology field.



Professor Gamal Essmat, Vice President of Cairo University for Graduate Studies and Research, has declared that the university founds expertise house that includes 5 Egyptian scientists from abroad as well as 5 scientists from inside Egypt aiming at developing the potentials of scientific research in the university in order to be up to world-class through research plans and programs that include new ideas and applications in scientific research, especially Nanotechnology.



Noteworthy, Professor Mostafa A. El-Sayed is an Egyptian chemical physicist. He is the first Egyptian to be awarded the US National Medal of Science, which is regarded as the highest American badge of honor in science, for his achievements in Nanotechnology field and implementing this technology using micro gold compounds in treating cancer.
