Cairo University President Urges Blended Learning Approval in Open Education Programs, Establishing Professional Diplomas

Cairo University President urged the development of Open Education programs at the university, including curriculum, exam systems and taking actions necessary to establish new professional diplomas. These diplomas are to meet the needs of labor market and apply blended learning to create new opportunities for learners by uplifting their professional skills.

Cairo University President called Open Education Center – Cairo University for launching regular face-to-face meetings in all professional diplomas and creating direct communication method with curriculum professors starting from the coming term.

The University President reviewed a report on the progress of professional diplomas exams held at Open Education Center – Cairo University in cooperation with faculties. Professional diplomas exams are held at Computers Labs at Faculty of Agriculture and are scheduled to end on Thursday, August 25, 2016.

Open Education Center earlier started professional diplomas exams on August 13, 2016, when students perform exams in five professional diplomas. The five diplomas are special education diploma, accounting diploma, sport media diploma, Arabic as a foreign language teachers preparation diploma and applied nutrition services diploma. Students perform professional diplomas exams by using computers, exams correction are also conducted by computers and learners know their results immediately after the end of the exam. Exams are held under the full academic supervision of program coordinator professors of Cairo University faculties for two weeks.
