Cairo University Establishes Distinctive Non-Egyptian Graduates Award, Develops Naguib Mahfouz Award for Literary and Ideological Creativity as Autonomous One among University Awards

 Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht announces that Cairo University Council approves the name amendment of Cairo University Award of Merit (Naguib Mahfouz) to Naguib Mahfouz Award for Literary and Ideological Creativity. The council also approves giving priority to the award as an autonomous one among Cairo University awards to enrich the literary and ideological movement at Cairo University and Egypt in general and commemorate one of the pioneers of this movement who won Nobel Prize.


Elkhosht pointed out that ،،Cairo University Distinctive Non-Egyptian Graduates Award is developed for the efficient non-Egyptians who graduated from Cairo University and occupied important official or non-official jobs in their countries.,, These non-Egyptians contributed to enriching the practical and scientific life and disseminating safety and peace in their countries or at the world level.  


Cairo University Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Amr Adly said that ،،Cairo University Council approves some amendments to the criteria of winning university awards in scientific research including the research related to sustainable development plans.,,


Prof. Dr. Mohamed Osman Elkhosht earlier demanded amending the criteria of Cairo University awards to link scientific research to sustainable development issues and achieving direct benefit to society. He urged speeding up criteria change to integrate between quantitative and qualitative criteria.
