Cairo University President Combats Corruption and Refers Incident of Burning some Documents at Administrative Building 2 to Public Prosecution

 Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht referred the incident of burning some papers and documents at administrative building 2 affiliated to Cairo University, at Tharwat Street, to public prosecution on March 1, 2018, after being informed of the incident. The prosecution assigned a criminal lab to investigate the circumstances of burning some papers and the motivation behind this. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht arrived at the building after being informed immediately to follow up the incident.


Cairo University President referred a great number of employees to investigation in different corruption incidents since he held the office in August 2017. He issued a decree of terminating the work of the Director of Cairo University Budget and Accounts and referring her to investigation after seizing her attempting to smuggle some documents from the administration. The Director of Cairo University Special Funds is also suspended.


Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht issued instructions since holding the post for inspecting Cairo University by following up administration businesses including financial and administrative aspects and reporting any irregularities or corruption. This is conducted in the framework of Cairo University strategy for combating all sorts of corruption. A similar incident has already taken place at the same building three years ago.
