Cairo University among the top 500 universities in the world in the classification of URAP 2011

(URAP) Is the classification of universities according to academic performance, it   was established research laboratory at the Institute of Information Technology in Middle East Technical University in 2009. The main objective of the URAP is to develop a classification system for the universities of the world on the basis of academic performance determined by the quality and quantity of scientific publishing.



the University of Toronto and Harvard and John Hopkins, Stanford and Berkeley received the top five and  University of Cairo is in the order of first 500 University in the world and ranked 498

12 Egyptian universities appeared in the top 2000 University, a global order: the University of Cairo (498), University of Ain ​​Shams (711), Mansoura University (805), University of Alexandria (848), University of Assiut (999), University of Suez Canal (1079) , Al-Azhar University (1236), Tanta University (1289), Zagazig University (1326), Minia University (1486), Menoufia University (1504), Helwan Mellon (1580).

Cairo University is in sixth place Africa and the seconf on Arab world after the King Saud University.
