Cairo University Students Celebrate its Ninth Anniversary
(The Second Anniversary After the First Centennial)
Sponsored by Prof. Dr. Hany Helal, Minister of Higher Education Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Hussam Kamel, President of Cairo University, Cairo University celebrates the ninth anniversary (the second anniversary after the first centennial). It is supervised by Prof. Dr. Heba Nassar, Vice President of Cairo University for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Prof. Dr. Heba Nassar , General Supervisor of the Celebration stated that this year is witnessing new events for university anniversary. First, granting three new awards for community service, namely, (Princess Fatima Giving Award) has been awarded to the name of the deceased chancellor / Mohamed Shawky Fanjary in recognition of his material giving to the University. (University Service Award) was awarded to Prof. Dr. Najib al-Hilali Gohar, former President of the University for his Contributions to the development of academic and educational activities of university. (Community Service Award) was awarded to Dr. Mahmood Mohi-ud-din, Director of the International Bank and former Minister of Investment for his commendable effort in Bein-el-sarayat land. This year, (26) scientists of university sons who have won awards are honored. . (5) State Award of Recognition. . (9) State Incentive Award..  (1) State Award of Excellence.. (4) University Award of Excellence.. (4)University Award of Recognition..  (2) University Award of superiority.. (1) The patent.
She added that the second event is a continuation of celebration of students over two days.. The first day of December 20, 2010 begins with the opening of the cultural program of intensive seminars to review the history of Egypt and the emergence of the university and lectures with the participation of many colleges, starts with a lecture held by the Faculty of Economics and Political Science on the (Egyptian industry, cinema and Talaat Harb), followed by a seminar of the Faculty of Mass Communication about (the press and media in Egypt in the previous century). The events of the first day are concluded by display of heritage art of the artist Iman El-Bahr Darwish.

The second day of the celebration 21/12/2010 starts with a symposium organized by the Faculty of Arts about (Taha Hussein - Suheir El-Kulmawi - Naguib Mahfouz and Cairo University), followed by a seminar held by the Faculty of Science about (Mustafa Meshrefa in his memorial) , followed by a film about the history of the university and its development and strategies of development, followed by a parade at the campus includes students and the whole University Council, and then the meeting of former presidents of Cairo University at Ahmed Lutfi Al-Sayed forum and a seminar on (Ahmed Lutfi Al-Sayed and Cairo University).
Commemoration of the ceremony starts with honoring scientists by distributing certificates of appreciation, shields and commemorative medals, which followed by a ceremony of a great artistic ceremony of maestro Selim Sahab.
