Cairo University honored a new group of staff members from different faculties and institutes of Cairo University for publishing their scientific researches in the name of Cairo University at the international level in the scientific periodicals and journals globally ranked during the first half of year 2014. This comes in the context of Cairo University's efforts for promoting scientific research among staff members in different scientific sectors and encouraging them to publish their international research for developing Cairo University's status in the international ranking.

During the celebration held at Grand Celebration Hall, Cairo University, Prof. Dr.\ Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University, distributed awards of international publication, granted by Cairo University to the owners of internationally published scientific researches, for about 641 researchers who published about 1278 researchers at international scientific journals until May, 2014.  

On Monday, May 31, 2015, Nassar said during the celebration that those who work on scientific research have the priority of the university's care, pointing out that the progress of the state will never occur except through scientific research and its production. He added that Cairo University boosts scientific publication and research presented by staff members for international publication. It works on increasing the fund allocated for scientific research year after year, so as to introduce the researches of Cairo University staff members to the world, get these researches referred to in scientific forums, and increase the opportunity of the university's progress in global rankings of universities.  

Prof. Dr.\ Gamal Essmat, Vice President of Cairo University for Graduate Studies and Research, pointed out that Faculty of Science leads Cairo University through a number of internationally published scientific researches, as it presented 365 researches, followed by Faculty of Medicine presenting 257 researches, and Faculty of Engineering presenting 143 researches. At the level of social sciences sector, Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences presented researches. Both Faculties of Arts and Archaeology have presented researches in human sciences. He referred to the development of scientific researches internationally published among staff members of the university in different specialties as well as the increase of number of researchers. Essmat added that Cairo University provides the necessary fund for encouraging the publication of staff member researches in the name of Cairo University at the international level.
