Cooperation Agreement of Training and Exchanging Experiences are Signed between Cairo University and Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University, has witnessed signing a memorandum of understanding between Cairo University represented in Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, and Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, Aswan, for training generations of doctors, nurses and technicians, as well as preparing a fellowship program aiming at enhancing research skills and abilities of doctor trainees. The memorandum has been signed by Prof. Dr. Fathy Khodeir, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Magdi Yacoub, Head of Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation. The memorandum, approved by President of Cairo University, includes the annual trainee nomination of four, at maximum, from specialties associated with medicine and cardiovascular surgery. The final selection of trainees is conducted after passing the interview with a committee headed by Dr. Magdi Yacoub, with the membership of representatives of Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. The memorandum of understanding considers the fellowship period an inseparable part of continuous education of trainees. The training period can be a part of the completion of receiving PhD. degree of the trainee.
Nassar has received Dr. Magdi Yacoub, the Global Cardiac Surgeon, at his office in the presence of Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. He tackled with him the aspects of cooperation between Cairo University and Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, Aswan, in fields of exchanging scientific visits, exchanging experiences, conducting joint research in fields of cardiac diseases through joint cooperation between Faculty of Medicine and Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation. In the same context, Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar has issued a decree in the light of the protocol signed between Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, and Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation. The decree states and approves that Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation deals with the units and hospitals of Cairo University concerning exchanging scientific visits and experiences and conducting researches for academic staff and their assistants, without being this exchange subject to the restricts of mandates, secondments or scientific tasks.
