On Monday, September 28, 2015, headed by Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University, Cairo University Council issued a resolution of coordinating with the Supreme Council of Universities to complete the implementation of the unanimous resolution of the university council concerning the admission of 150 top-ranked students of General Secondary including its three sections; literature, science and mathematics with admitting 50 students from each section; 50 to Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences, 50 to Faculty of Mass Communication and 50 to both Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Engineering. This was approved to resolve the geographic distribution problem which had deprived some excellent students of regions from joining Faculties of Mass Communication, Economics and Political Sciences, Medicine and Engineering, at Cairo University.
Cairo University Council confirmed the vitality of communication and dialogue between faculties deans and professors on one hand and students at the other hand, holding monthly meetings directly with students, listening to them and working on solving their problems regarding the educational process and other problems.
Cairo University Council reviewed a report on the university position in international rankings which, year after year, shows a progress. The council confirmed the need to increase concern in scientific research, international publishing, developing faculties websites and linking them to the portal of Cairo University.
The university council has issued a resolution of preventing the usage of car horns inside the university campus, and any one violates this will be fined 100 EGPs. This resolution aims at preventing noise inside the university campus.
Cairo University President acquainted the council with accepting the transfer of 12 students. Transferring them to Cairo University was approved by reasons of the administrative transfer of their parents within the scope of Cairo University at Faculties of Medicine, Engineering, Mass Communication, Commerce and Science as stipulated by the law, whereas other 14 cases were dismissed for not meeting the rules of administrative transfer.
Cairo University Council has approved the academic cooperation agreement between Cairo University and Yerevan State University (YSU) in fields of education, scientific research and training.
