On Sunday, November 8, 2015, the elections committees of Cairo University Student Union start to receive appeals regarding some candidate students of elections. This is being made after announcing the initial lists of the students who applied to the elections to which 1600 students from all faculties applied before closing the door of candidacy. This number of applicant students this time is less than the number of the previous elections. The largest number of candidate students is from Faculty of Law 187 students, followed by Faculty of Commerce 145, whereas the least number of candidate students is from Faculty of Computers and Information 16 students.
The final records of candidate students are being announced on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. This is being made after examining the appeals. After that, the electoral propaganda of candidates of student unions councils at the university faculties is starting on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, until Sunday, November 15.
Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar, Cairo University President, has declared that it is the right of all students to express their opinions and choose who represent them in student union, confirming that student elections are being conducted without any interference from the university administration.
