Cairo University Announces Names of University Awards Winners for 2016

Cairo University announced the names of the university awards winners for 2016 including excellence award, the university merit award and the university award for scientific excellence and incentive award. Dr. Zainal-Abidin Abdel-Hamid Darwish, Faculty of Arts, won the award of excellence in humanities and education. Dr. Abdullah Abdel-Fattah El-Tatawy, Faculty of Arts, won the award of excellence in social sciences. Dr. Nour-el-din Tawfik Abdel-Ghany, Faculty of Science, won the award of excellence in basic sciences. Dr. Rabab Mohamed Gaafar, National Cancer Institute, won the award of excellence in medical and pharmaceutical sciences. Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Ahmed Farg, Faculty of Science, won the award of excellence in advanced technology sciences.


Dr. Youmna Tarif Amin El-Kholy, Faculty of Arts, won the university award of merit in humanities and education. Dr. Eid Hasan Abdel-Rahman and Dr. Faten Ahmed Fouad Nour-el-din, Faculty of Science, won the university award of merit in basic sciences (by equal shares). Dr. Hamed Taher Hassanein, Faculty of Dar El-Ulum, won the award of creative thinking and literature.


Dr. Raafat Milad Mohareb, Faculty of Science, won the award of scientific excellence in basic sciences. Dr. Hossam-el-din Saad El-Beltagy, Faculty of Agriculture, won the award of scientific excellence in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary sciences. Dr. Ahmed Sherif Hussein Ateya, Faculty of Pharmacy, won the award of scientific excellence in advanced technology sciences.


Dr. Eman Yousry Zaky Ahmed Farag, Faculty of Science, won the university incentive award in chemical sciences. Dr. Ahmed Yehia Mohamed Gad, Faculty of Agriculture, won the university incentive award in agricultural sciences. Dr. Karim Said Morsy Sayed and Dr. Sherif Abdel Aziz Ibrahim, Faculty of Science, won the university incentive award in advanced technology sciences. Dr. Haytham Safwat Kamal Hamza, Faculty of Computers and Information, and Dr. Hossam Mohamed Abdel-Hamid Abdel-Gawad, Faculty of Engineering, won the award of engineering sciences (by equal shares).


Cairo University President said that ،،the value of awards reached EGPs 1,600,000 and the arbitration commission is composed of senior professors from Cairo University and other universities. ,, He pointed out that ،،new criteria were developed including modernity and quality regarding scientific research. ,, Cairo University Vice-Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs Dr. Amr Adly said that ،،some modifications were undertaken to the university awards criteria to cope with the global changes of scientific research and increase their values to reach EGPs 200, 000 for excellence awards and EGPs 100, 000 for merit awards. ,,
