Cairo University Organizes Workshop for Training Faculty Members on Using Blended Learning Management Systems

 Cairo University Center for Open Education organizes workshop in cooperation with Supreme Council for Universities to train faculty members of professional Commerce B.Sc. (blended education system) to develop their skills for dealing with new technological givens in blended learning fields.


The workshop is sponsored by Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht out of Cairo University concern in activating blended learning and presenting distinctive programs that meet labor market requirements and cope with global developments in distance education.


The workshop is held at Conference Hall, Open Education Center, Cairo University. It is attended by the Center Manager Mohamed Samy, the Manager of National Center for E-Learning at Supreme Council of Universities Ramy Iskander, and faculty members.


The Manager of Information System (IS) at Supreme Council of Universities Ahmed Hamdy reviewed main themes for using Moodle to share educational content and means of communication with student. He also reviewed advanced topics such as assessments and assignments via web, digital questionnaire, and chat rooms. He presented full explanations for each item in the Moodle such as virtual study classes and forums, ways of uploading study curriculum contents, ways of uploading educational resources and links from Youtube and videoclips that allows flexibility in information exchange. Hamdy provided explanation for substantial programs, pre-assessment associated with question banks, and how to assess students through assignments that learners adhere to in durations to be decided by subject professor. The Manager of National Center for E-learning at Supreme Council Ramy Iskander answered all the questions asked in this regard.


The Manager of Cairo University Center for Open Education Mohamed Samy will allocate a laboratory at the center for providing practical explanation to professors on how to upload educational resources. Free workshops will be organized for students to be trained on how to deal with E-learning systems. Training Sector will be established to develop learner skills and connect them to men of industry, banks, and professions syndicate.


Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht earlier ensured the university adherence to implementing all decrees of Supreme Council of Universities regarding blended learning. He emphasized the concern in providing developed educational environment that serves blended learning system at Cairo University and presenting distinctive programs that meet labor market requirements and cope with global developments in distance learning.
