Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht opens orientation seminar on financing opportunities available for scholarships and applied research projects for the university on Monday, January 15, 2018. The seminar is organized by International Relation Office Cairo University (IRO – CU). The seminar hosts many representatives of international financing authorities, European Union, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), British Council, National Erasmus+ Office (NEO), and some European Universities.
The seminar is held at ElQasemi Hall at New Central Library Cairo University. Most prominent applied research projects at Cairo University directly serving development and Egyptian national economy are reviewed. Financing opportunities available to research projects at university whether by international or local funding are reviewed in the seminar. The seminar also presents Cairo University partnerships with some European Universities in academic, research, and administrative exchange.
Cairo University President said that the orientation seminar stems from Cairo University role in national projects and national economy service. The seminar also emanates from Cairo University role in achieving Egypt Vision 2030 involved with the entrance of 10 Egyptian Universities in international ranking already achieved and maintained by Cairo University. Elkhosht added that Cairo University is keen on developing the abilities of faculty members and qualifying students by academic and research exchange with European peers to enhance Cairo University ability to transform into a third-generation university.
Lectures are delivered in the seminar by elite of distinctive competencies in international cooperation including Cairo University Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research and International Relation Office Supervisor at Cairo University Amr Adly. Professor of International Law at Faculty of Law Cairo University and Egypt Previous Ambassador in UNESCO Mohamed Sameh Amr and Executive Manager for International Agreements and Coordinator of Agricultural and Basic Science Sector Hossam Mohamed Safaa give lecture in the seminar. Manager of Scholarships and National Coordinator for Information Technology Sector at European Union Haitham Hamza, representatives of International Relations Office at Cairo University, and Expatriate Affairs Care Manager at Cairo University Dalia Khalil also lecture in the seminar.
The orientation seminar works are witnessed by elite of faculty members and researchers at Cairo University faculties as well as postgraduate, B.A., and B.Sc. students.
