Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht makes a tour on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, to check out exams progress for Cairo University students. Elkhosht said that the exams of Cairo University faculties are regular and witnesses quietness. No riots or cheating attempts are monitored. He pointed out that exams measure the average level of students and higher levels of thinking. Exam questions are based on retrieving some information instead of memorization and rote learning within the framework of Cairo University developing of student ability to grasp and understand. Exams develop ways of scientific thinking and problem solving to help understanding without memorization.
Elkhosht proceeds, in manifestations after his tour for exams, that the exam method is the one that changes curriculum, explanation method, and students training on information analysis, criticism, inference and heuristics. He points out that two curriculum will be developed for students; entrepreneurship and critical thinking, in the framework of scientific thinking for students.
Cairo University President said that exams this year are held without pavilions and end in Ramadan before Iftar time sufficiently. Exams are scheduled to finish before Eid Fitr. Elkhosht added that cheating penalties are being intensively carried out, and any attempt to cheat will be faced. Exam results will be announced within two weeks from their wrap up at all Cairo University faculties.
Elkhosht inquires the students opinions regarding the treatment of proctors inside exam halls, exams level, and time allotted for exams.
