Faculty of Arts Cairo University organizes orientation meetings for students of General Secondary Certificate (GSC) and equal certificates to introduce to them new credit-hour programs. This is conducted in the framework of Cairo University endeavor to raise the awareness of its students of faculty programs, potentials and pre-requisites of the programs as well as job opportunities to graduates. The orientation meetings are sponsored by Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht and Faculty of Arts Dean Ahmed Elsherbiny. Faculty Vice-Deans, Departments Chairs, Faculty members and coordinators of credit-hour programs at Faculty participate in the orientation meetings.
The orientation meetings are aimed at raising the students awareness of the nature of study in new credit-hour faculty programs, opportunities of joining those programs, and job fields that the programs qualify graduates to, as well as introducing the different buildings of the faculty, student activities, and the administrations responsible for their implementation.
Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht said that new 7 credit-hour programs have been accredited at Faculty of Arts Cairo University; including five credit-hour programs for specialized translation, a program for creative English writing, and a program for survey and geographical information systems and remote sensing. Elkhosht said that the programs are a crucial educational leap for Faculty of Arts and Cairo University. Elkhosht pointed out that the programs will present a distinctive education service to a great sector of students who are looking forward to studying specialized translation and geographical information systems and remote sensing that are frequently requested. Deciding the program fields is conducted in the light of job market needs.
