Cairo University President Meets Manager of British Council in Egypt to Discuss Means of Cooperation

Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht meets Elizabeth White the Manager of British Council in Egypt and delegation. The meeting is attended by Ayman Elkhatib Cairo University Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Maha Elsaid Chair of English Department Faculty of Arts Cairo University. Elkhosht greets Elizabeth White for becoming the president of British Council in Egypt pointing out the importance of the center in Egypt and the world to disseminate English language and British Council.


Cairo University President said that he has many books authored by David Hume and John Stuart pointing that he realizes the importance of British thinking and science. He pointed out that he welcomes cooperation with the British Council in Egypt in multicultural fields that serve students, cooperation that is not confined to Anti-Harassment Unit Cairo University only, but other fields as well to benefit students.


Elkhosht added that he realizes the importance of Anti-Harassment Unit in Cairo University and other Egyptian Universities. He looks forward to extending this influence to outside university borders. He said that he dreams of the day when men regard women as human beings and women regard men as human beings.


Cairo University President proceeds saying that his thinking is directed to British Universities especially Cambridge University that is considered one of fourth-Generation universities. He pointed out that Cairo University seeks enrolling itself among third-generation universities and extending the domain of its relations with global universities and holding joint scientific degrees especially nanotechnology and telecommunication. He added that Cairo University establishes international university; a university that encompasses programs and not faculties and receives international students.


Cairo University President pointed out that he welcomes British students who are learning Arabic language at Cairo University including Center for Arabic Language and Culture to extend cooperation bridges between Egyptian and British cultures especially in relation to methods of thinking and learning.


Elizabeth White the Manager of British Council in Egypt welcomes cooperation with Cairo University whether with the Anti-Harassment Unit or other fields according to agreements between the two sides. She pointed out that the British Council supports cooperation between British Universities and Cairo University including student exchange and hosting students from Britain to study the Arabic language at Cairo University.


The Manager of British Council in Egypt agrees with Cairo University President on the importance of joint scientific degrees with British Universities.
