Dr. Elkhosht announces that Cairo University has completed preparations to establish its national university within the strategy of transformation into a fifth-generation university
Dr. Elkhosht: The first stage of the university will comprise 11 colleges, including 16 distinguished programs in various specializations and interdisciplinary programs, keeping pace with the latest developments in engineering, medical, basic, social sciences and the humanities.
Dr. Elkhosht: There will be programs teaching energy engineering, architectural technology, petrochemicals, cybersecurity, software, medicine, surgery, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, physical therapy, business administration, economics, English-language media, and nanotechnology.
Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, revealed that the university has finished its preparations for establishing Cairo National University, within the university’s 2021-2025 strategy as a fourth-generation university and the national strategy for higher education, as part of Cairo University’s constant endeavor to achieve sustainable development goals and provide quality education for Egyptian and expatriate students.
Dr. Elkhosht explained that their file on Cairo National University includes the feasibility study and basic data as well as the National University strategic plan, administrative structure, and a list of available material and human resources, as per the requirements of the Supreme Council of National Universities.
According to Dr. Elkhosht, Cairo National University includes, in its first phase, 11 colleges with a total of 16 programs in various specializations. These are distinguished programs whose regulations keep pace with scientific progress in engineering, medical, basic, and social sciences as well as the humanities, with a number of interdisciplinary programmes. He emphasized that Cairo National University will attract international students from various parts of the world; a number of scholarships will also be provided to Egyptian students who distinguish themselves in the fields of science and mathematics.
Dr. Elkhosht listed the study programs available at Cairo National University: sustainable energy engineering, architectural technology engineering, petrochemical process engineering, cybersecurity and network engineering, data science, software engineering, medicine and surgery, oral and dental medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, and clinical pharmacology. The degrees it offers are Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Business Administration in English, Economics in English, Media in English, and Nanoscience and Technology.
Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht announced in December 2023 the implementation of a number of future projects for the university, foremost of which is the establishment of Cairo National University on an area of 290 acres on the Wahat Road in 6 October City. He also announced the establishment of the Cairo International Technological University, a medical complex, a faculty of energy a renewable sciences, a faculty for robotics and artificial intelligence applications, and a faculty for space technology and sciences, in addition to approving the launching of 30 projects to develop the humanities and social sciences, establishing a chair for the development of theological studies, and initiating a project to for the further development of Qasr al-Aini and the French Qasr al-Aini hospitals.
