Cairo University decided to set up a unit for psychological counseling and advice to help students of the university faculty members and volunteers from the students after their training and rehabilitation for the participation of faculty members in this service for students and raise awareness of combating negative attitudes among them.

 the Council  University of Cairo was approved under the chairmanship of Dr.Hossam Kamel, the establishment of this unit and the adoption of $ 165 thousand pounds as a budget in principle from the own resources of the University of the unit will begin its work during the second half of the current academic year to target counseling skills and counseling for all students applying for them with the training of volunteers from the students at the hands of specialists in counseling skills and cognitive therapy with attracting students to receive services through the activities themselves, including seminars, exhibitions, lectures and competitions, as the unit to prepare teams to provide psychological counseling service for students in colleges on a regular basis.

 D.Hossam Kamel, President of Cairo University said that the unit will follow the university has been allocated budget has also been studying this program and his plan and its objectives, which focus on the graduation of university successful academically and stable psychologically incapable of making its decisions freely and objectively and to carry a realistic vision for the future and adopt healthier behaviors peacefully.

The unit will begin to hold training courses for students and volunteers monitoring the statistics of the target behaviors to support the provision of psychological counseling services and advice to students who request it.
