Cairo University decided to to participate in the International Initiative of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development on the assessment of learning outcomes in higher education, known as project evaluation outcomes of higher education (AHELO (, and will represent the University of Cairo, Egypt in the initiative among a number of educational institutions working in the field of higher education.

Hossam Kamel, President of Cairo University, said the initiative aims to create a mechanism and tools to measure transparent and fair about the acquisition of college graduates college learning outcomes qualified to the requirements of the labor market, and at the same time can make the measurement tools to be applicable in all societies, cultures and languages, noting that the first phase of the project, a a pilot phase designed to test the assessment tools for effectively the educational process in the supply of students' skills of the labor market and begin this stage with the academic year current 2011/2012 as a prelude to determine the assessment tools and measurement of a fair and true can be dealt with in all existing educational programs and thus benefit from the results to find the best conditions for success of the operation educational and paths developed in the framework linked to the labor market and community needs.
